Young Artists
Under the artistic direction of Jamel Gaines, the Young Artists‘ mission is to support the professional development of a selected group of 14-20 year-old aspiring artists. Creative Outlet Young Artists’ couples these promising dancers with experienced professional artists to help them train and develop professional skills and values, while producing performances at traditional dance venues across the nation. Our Young Artists are the top students of our Cultural Arts Program and have earned the title of pre-professionals. They are trained in Modern, African, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Jazz dance. Creative Outlet Young Artists’ invigorates their commitment to the educational and/or professional path that is right for their goals. Many Young Artist alumni have gone on to study at notable universities including Julliard, Howard, and SUNY Purchase. Past participants have been recognized as presidential scholars and now perform with many notable recording artists including Beyonce and Chris Brown. They have also earned places on So You Think You Can Dance, and careers in television, video, film, and Broadway production.
Booking information:
Based on the nature of the event the company tours with 6-18 performers and personnel including, the Artistic Director, Company Manager, Lighting Designer, Technical Director, Wardrobe Supervisor and Stage Manager.
