Levell Franklin
Levell Franklin, also known as Chozin, has set his sights on showcasing his talents on major platforms like television and has had the opportunity to share the stage with superstars such as Beyoncé. A native of New York, Levell began his entertainment career as a child, with early acting roles on shows like Sesame Street. Growing up in the Marcus Garvey Projects, he immersed himself in a variety of activities to stay focused and out of trouble, including singing, rapping, dancing, and acting throughout grade and high school.
After attending New York Technical College, Levell gained significant recognition for his talents and performed as a backup dancer for Beyoncé at the 2003 VMAs. This breakthrough led to job offers in Los Angeles, where he struggled with uncertainty about his path. Inspired by the Bible verse "For many are called, but few are chosen" (Matthew 22:14), Levell decided to pursue his dreams in LA. There, he danced for artists like Destiny’s Child, Ashanti, Mario, and Christina Milian. Embracing the nickname "Chozin," derived from the scripture, he also ventured into choreography and gained prominence for his work with platinum artist Chris Brown.
Now reflecting from New York, Chozin takes a moment to share his experiences with DAS Chicago, revealing what it's like to be a dancer and a triple threat in the entertainment industry.
