Prince Credell
Prince Credell hails from the Bronx, NY, and began his formal dance training at The Ailey School. After graduating from LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts, he continued his studies at the San Francisco Ballet School. Credell's professional journey took flight with Ailey II and has since led him to dance with prestigious companies such as Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève.
He has also collaborated as a guest artist with Complexions Contemporary Ballet and played a pivotal role in setting works by Dwight Rhoden on Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. In 2002, Credell began his work with Alonzo King, assisting in setting King’s choreography on Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Cedar Lake Dance Ensemble, and North Carolina Dance Theater, as well as on Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Ballet Béjart Lausanne.
Credell's exceptional contributions to the dance world have been recognized with the Princess Grace Award in 2003 and the Isadora Duncan Award in 2006. His film credits include Alonzo King Goes to Venice, a documentary that premiered at the 2005 Lincoln Center Film Festival. In 2007, he starred in the solo film Shake-Off, directed by Hans Beenhakker, which premiered at the Lincoln Center Dance on Camera Festival in 2008. Currently, Prince Credell dances with Netherlands Dance Theater and has also performed as a guest artist with Jacoby & Pronk.
